Be wary of the painkillers you take, as researchers have found that some painkillers may give you a heart attack.

It affects about 0.5% of the total population, but more than 6% of the elderly population.

The use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may increase the likelihood of heart attack or heart problem.

According to the researchers, the use of NSAIDs in a study in middle-aged adults is associated with an 18% increase in the risk of atrial fibrillation.

Atrial fibrillation is an irregular and often fast heart rate that can increase the risk of stroke, heart failure, and other heart problems.

The new findings underscore the importance of carefully monitoring the adverse effects of NSAIDs on heart health, especially among high-risk individuals, the researchers said.

“Based on the results of this study, the benefits and risks of using NSAIDs need to be carefully evaluated when administered in clinical practice,” said Hui-Ju Tsai, co-author of the National health research Institutes, Taiwan

For the study published in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, the researchers included 57,058 participants: 28,529 cases of atrial fibrillation and 28,529 matched controls. Participants who used NSAIDs had an increased risk of atrial fibrillation compared to non-users.

In assessing the effects of different types of NSAIDs on the risk of atrial fibrillation, the results showed that participants using non-selective NSAIDs had a significant increase in the risk of atrial fibrillation, as compared to participants in a combined use of selective and non-selective.

According to the researchers, the use of (NSAIDs) Painkillers may give you a heart attack, increased risk of developing atrial fibrillation among participants in the study cohort.

Close monitoring of the side effects of NSAID treatment on the risk of atrial fibrillation will be important, especially in high-risk patients, they noted.
