Sexually transmitted infections remain one of the major public health problems in India. Health awareness events promote public health issues and aim to improve health and save lives.
Sometimes these events promote preventive measures against more serious diseases.
Sexual health is a broad field that includes many challenges and related issues. The main issues and concerns are human rights related to sexual health, sexual satisfaction, eroticism and diseases (such as HIV / AIDS, STIs, IVR), violence, female genital mutilation, dysfunction sexual health and mental health related to sexual health.
The event was designed to educate the general public on how to decrease the transmission of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) which are now very common.
The National Population Stabilization Fund (Jansankhya Sthirata Kosh) has set up the Indian government in the year 2004-05, a hotline for confidential sexual counseling services and immediate response to requests and offers reproductive health problems.
In this initiative, a team of doctors and health experts answered questions about sexual health issues, sexually transmitted infections, contraception, pregnancy, infertility, miscarriages, menopause, and puberty and can explain the functioning of the reproductive systems of men and women.
The hotline will also try to reduce the misconceptions about sex, which is important in our country, where the subject is socially taboo. When experimenting with schools showed that confidential information services are in high demand.
You can help provide objective advice from a respected source in place of their peers, the Internet and word-of-mouth to raise public awareness of their rights and trust in public institutions and the bridge.
The Objective of This Day:
The main objective of this day is to design and increase the awareness of health-related issues like reproduction and healthy sex.
The day also aims to reduce the diseases transmitted through unhygienic sexual activities by preventing and controlling Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs).
Improving the individuals’ sexual health and helping them to know about different types of sexual wellness supplements and other medicines or drugs.

What is The Challenge?
In India, sex is considered a taboo. You will not find that your parents are talking about sex and therefore you do not have good knowledge of good sex.
A large number of women marry in India at the age of 18. This leads to a lack of maturity and knowledge about sex and contraception.
Women begin to give birth to children without prior planning, resulting in a lack of family planning. This happens mostly in rural areas and the reason is the lack of knowledge.
What Can We Do to Contribute?
The main contribution we can do is to make sure that we live in a healthy community surrounded by healthy people who do not have any sexual disease like HIV.
This day aims to destroy STDs to make a healthier nation for us to live in. We can do the following small things to make our country a better place to live in;
- Spreading awareness and educating people who are unaware of healthy sex practices.
- If we are a parent, do a small sex talk with teenage children and let them know about the importance of a healthy sexual health.
- Engage our-self in workshops and help patients who are affected by these diseases so as to provide the knowledge for the proper understanding of their situation.
Let’s live a healthy life without the complications of any type of sexual health problems or other diseases.
